For the first 24 hours after your procedure, take it easy. Avoid any forceful spitting, rinsing, or brushing — and skip the straw for now. You can apply an ice pack or cold compress on your cheek to help with swelling, but only for the first 24 hours.
You can gently resume your regular oral hygiene routine either later that evening or the next day — just be extra careful near the surgical area.
Please don’t smoke for at least 5 days, and try to avoid any intense physical activity like lifting heavy objects or working out hard.
Stick to soft foods for the first week — think mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, yogurt, or pasta. Also, try to chew on the opposite side of your mouth, away from the extraction site.
These are general guidelines — we’ll also give you personalized instructions to make sure your recovery goes as smoothly as possible.
