Dr. Hakim is an American Board-Certified Orthodontist with over 20 years of combined clinical and teaching experience in the US and the UAE.
He completed his postgraduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Colorado, USA in 2006 after earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pittsburgh, USA in 2002.
He also holds a Master of Science (MS) in Human Genetics from the University of Pittsburgh, a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Benghazi University, and a Master of Science in Dental Medicine (MSD) from the University of Colorado. Dr. Hakim is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO).
He served on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and more recently was Assistant Professor of Orthodontics and Clinic Director at the European University College, Dubai.
Dr. Hakim serves as the UAE Ambassador for the American Association of Orthodontists. He is published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Dental Research and the American Journal of Orthodontics and has been invited as a guest speaker to numerous international conferences.
He speaks English and Arabic.
