      Dr. Kaavya Shanker

      Dr. Kaavya is a Specialist Pediatric Dentist with over six years of experience in pediatric and preventive dentistry, and a particular focus on Biofunctional Interceptive and Myofunctional Therapy.

      She earned her dental degree in 2018 with distinction, then completed her Master of Dental Surgery in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in 2022 at SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad, India, where she also graduated with distinction and was awarded the Silver Medal.

      She further advanced her expertise through a Fellowship in Biofunctional Interceptive and Myofunctional Therapy from Manipal Dental Hospital, Malaysia, strengthening her focus on airway-centered care, oral function, and early developmental support for children and teenagers.

      Dr. Kaavya provides comprehensive dental care for children and teenagers, from preventive visits and tooth-colored treatments to crowns, root canal treatment for children’s teeth, and care for young permanent teeth affected by Molar Incisor Hypoplasia.

      Her work also includes early orthodontic support, such as space maintainers, arch expansion, crossbite correction, habit management, and minor tooth movement. She manages dental trauma, performs selected minor laser procedures, and provides myofunctional therapy for children and teenagers.

      She is also experienced in treating children with special needs and providing dental care under conscious sedation or general anesthesia when needed.

      Dr. Kaavya brings both clinical depth and academic credibility as a Life Member of the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, with research published in PubMed-indexed journals.
